Peter Clough ARSM, BSc(Hons)

Yorkshire based Cornet/Trumpet player

Music

Born on the Wirral in 2000, Peter started playing piano at the age of 4 and cornet at the age of 8. He studied under Scott Lloyd and Paul Thomas whilst attending Wirral Grammar School for Boys, playing in the school brass band, concert band, big band and a variety of smaller ensembles, as well as freelance playing locally. He has toured extensively in Europe with school and has appeared at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club.

He joined Wirral Schools Brass Band in 2011 under the baton of Alan Milnes, progressing through back row and repiano and becoming principal cornet from 2016 to 2019. During this time, he also acted as a tutor at Royal Buckley Town junior band and a local music centre. In 2016 he joined Foden's Youth band and has played repiano and front row cornet, until leaving in 2022.

After leaving school with his ARSM on cornet and grade 8 piano in 2019, and a year in Canada playing with the Salvation Army, Peter now plays front row cornet with the City of Hull Band.

" The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant."
